Days of King David
II Samuel 5:9-11

David settled in the fortress and called it “The City of David.” David built around [the city], from the Millo and inward.  David kept becoming greater, and Hashem, the God of Legions, was with him.  Hiram, king of Tyre, sent a delegation to David, with cedar wood, and carpenter, and masons of wall-stones, and they built a palace for David.

(I Chronicles 11 8-9)
He built up the city all around, from the Millo to the surrounding [wall], while Joab restored the rest of the city.  David grew continuously greater, and Hashem, Master of Legions, was with him.

(I Chronicles 14 1)
Huram, the king of Tyre, sent a delegation to David, with cedarwood, wall artisans, and carpenters, to build him a palace.

(I Chronicles 15 1)

He built for himself in the City of David.  He also prepared a place for the Ark of God, pitching a tent for it.
